SOUNDCHECK   |   FEB. 21 WITH BUILT TO SPILL

Music is the soul of Hard Rock, and we're excited to bring you the new live music series "SOUNDCHECK" with partner FILTER Magazine, the leading, LA-based music lifestyle publication. SOUNDCHECK will showcase big buzz bands for intimate, up-close-and-personal performances in Hard Rock's hip 207 bar, and will be rounded out by support from top local bands and DJs. And the best part? The events are FREE and open to the public. So bring your friends, and join us.

The next installment of the now popular monthly series offers up American alt-rocker greats Built to Spill for a special Fat Tuesday event on February 21. Formed in 1992 by Singer-songwriter and guitarist Doug Martsch, the group’s trademark is winding guitar riffs, and Martsch's unique, emotionally-charged voice. They’ve performed at some the best festivals in the world including Lollapalooza and Pitchfork in Chicago. With smart, catchy music influenced by the like of Neil Young and Pavement, Built to Spill will perform old favorites and songs from their critically-acclaimed album There is No Enemy. Electronically driven group Sister Crayon will open.

Two of San Diego's top underground DJs - Adam Salter & Gabe Vega - will provide tunes on the shoulders of bands’ sets. Proceeds from a specially-created cocktail will benefit locally based charity Invisible Children. Grab your crew and enjoy.
